About Louie Caporusso
Louie Caporusso is a former professional hockey player, coach, and performance mentor with over 14 years of experience in elite competitive environments. He was drafted by the Ottawa Senators, signed an NHL contract, and played at the University of Michigan, where he became an All-American, Hobey Baker Award finalist, team captain, and one of the top players in college hockey. He went on to play professionally across North America and Europe, including leadership roles as a captain in Germany's top league and later as a player and coach with the Cincinnati Cyclones.
After years inside locker rooms, team meetings, pressure situations, and high-performance environments, Louie became deeply interested in what actually drives an athlete's performance beyond talent and training. For the past five years, he has worked closely with athletes as a mental performance coach and mentor, helping them uncover the hidden patterns, fears, motivations, identities, and beliefs shaping the way they compete.
Caporusso Performance was built from that work. Louie's approach is not based on clichés, quick fixes, or generic mental toughness tools. It is built on guided conversation, honest reflection, performance investigation, and helping athletes understand themselves at a deeper level. His work has helped athletes bring to light what is actually driving their performance, remove unnecessary mental noise, and compete with more clarity, instinct, and trust in who they are.
